Matthew Guarracino, Principal and CEO of JM Electrical, was recently featured in tED Magazine’s Contractor Q&A series, discussing the company’s prefabrication activities and partnerships with electrical distributors.
In the Q&A, Matthew highlights the JME Innovation Center, a dedicated 16,000-square-foot prefab facility established in 2022. The facility serves as a hub for warehousing, sorting, kitting, and prefabrication work across JM Electrical’s large-scale projects, including EV charging infrastructure, controller assembly, conduit bending, and panel rack assembly and wiring. Beyond prefab operations, the Innovation Center has evolved into a multipurpose facility that also supports safety training and continuing education.
Matthew emphasizes that within JM Electrical’s specialized niche, their prefabrication approach requires creativity and close collaboration with clients.
“Every job is a little different, so that collaborative approach is crucial,” he explains.
Regarding distributor partnerships, Matthew notes that the relationships built with suppliers and distributors have been critical to the Innovation Center’s success. By centralizing operations through the facility, JM Electrical can consolidate deliveries that would otherwise be scattered across multiple jobsites, creating efficiencies that benefit everyone involved.
